Year 3 Book Week Parade 2016

It was wonderful to see so many staff and students get involved in the Book Week Parade celebrations by dressing up last Thursday.

Year 3 looked absolutely brilliant with a range of characters from Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer’s Night Dream”.

There was also Mr McGee and the Big Bag of Bread(Ethan ), That Pesky Rat (Christian), The 78^th Tree House (Ace and Max), Alice in Wonderland ( Saskia ), Little Red Riding Hood (Jess), Cleopatra (Roisin) and so many, many more wonderful characters.

It was a fantastic day and lots of fun... so much so they all wanted to stay in their dress ups for the whole day... AND THEY DID. !!

Congratulations to U9’s Destroyers.

Big Congratulations go out to the Under 9’s Destroyers who smashed ALL four gala games this weekend. The team are proudly pumped with their wonderful achievement. As a result, the team were honoured with a trophy and medals all round.

Even our own beautiful Mrs Dewis was there!!!

NAIDOC Week Excursion

Together with students from our sister school, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, we visited the Kamay Botany Bay National Park to celebrate NAIDOC Week. We learnt many things including more about how Indigenous Australians lived in the area, where Captain Cook first landed and how ochre is made for painting. Walking through a national park will never be the same...looking out for bush tucker, mingo trees for glue, using wattle leaves for soap or stringy bark for rope...
