ICT inspired creativity

This term students participated in a coding workshop with Mac-1. Using the app 'Scratch Jr', children created their own on-line game involving images, speech and sound effects. The app has proved a hit and many students are challenging themselves by using a more complicated coding program 'Hopscotch'.

Term 1 has also focused on using Google apps such as Google Slides and Google Docs, which are great for sharing files and teacher feedback.  The advantage of using such apps is that any files created are automatically backed up on Google Drive, avoiding the heart-ache of hard drive crashes.  Students have also been able to learn some fundamental skills needed for using iPads effectively for communicating their learning. Year 3 is clearly enthusiastic about their BYODD program.  More inspiration to come in Term 2!
